OpenAI is a company that was first found in 2015. Sam Altman, Reid Hoffman, Peter Theil and Elon Musk all helped created OpenAI. OpenAI then shifted from non-profit in 2019. GPT-3 was announced in 2020 and DALL-E was announced in 2021 along with a free preview of ChatGPT. ChatGPT then launched in 2022 and took everyones attention.
Many people can gather information from ChatGPT to cause harm to others. People can also make ChatGPT generate bad text like fake news, spam and impersonation. Humans can even trick ChatGPT into telling lies or bad things. Students can use ChatGPT to generate essays which is academic dishonesty. People can cheat on things using ChatGPT.
ChatGPT has many flaws. For example, ChatGPT doesn't know anything past September 2021 as it wasn't programmed in. ChatGPT also struggles with human communication, and defintely struggles in chess. ChatGPT also lacks common sense and emotion. ChatGPT would fail to pick up human sarcasm or humor. If you ask ChatGPT a question, it may respond with an entire essay which can be annoying.
